Moving a piano takes more than strong arms
An upright piano typically weighs 200 to 350 kg, a grand often more, and the weight sits unevenly. That makes moving a piano a different job from carrying a sofa. Without the right equipment and technique you risk damaging the instrument, scratching floors and door frames, and in the worst case injuring yourself.
We have moved pianos in North Zealand for generations. We use a piano trolley, straps and padding, and we know how to get safely round a banister, out through a narrow door and onto a truck without the instrument taking damage.
Upright, grand, or part of a larger move
Upright piano. The most common job. We wrap the instrument, secure it on a trolley and transport it upright in a padded truck.
Grand piano. Usually needs the legs and pedal lyre removed and packed separately, with the body carried on its side on a piano board. We reassemble it at the new address.
A piano inside a bigger move. If your piano is part of a larger home move, we handle it as an integrated part of the job rather than sending you to a separate company.
A hoist, when the staircase will not do
Many pianos have to go up or down staircases that are too narrow or too winding for an instrument weighing several hundred kilos. That is where we use our furniture hoist, which reaches up to 21 metres. The instrument is lifted safely in through a window or balcony door, which is both faster and gentler than fighting it up a staircase.

The price depends on the instrument, the distance and the access at both addresses.
