Packing service for your move

Packing is the part of a move that takes the longest. We pack your home room by room, carefully and systematically, so you get the time back and your belongings arrive intact.

Why have your home packed professionally?

Packing is underestimated. Most people treat it as a weekend job, and packing properly takes far longer than that. It is the usual reason a move becomes stressful. When we pack for you, you get that time back, and you avoid the scratches, breakages and badly packed glassware that otherwise happen.

We pack faster and more densely because we have done it daily for more than 125 years. Our packers know how to wrap china so it does not crack, how to stack glass so it does not scratch, and how to pack a television so it survives the journey.

How we pack

We always work systematically, room by room. That means you can find your things both during and after the move, and the crew can empty the rooms in a logical order. Every box gets a clear label with its destination room (kitchen, bedroom, office) and a short description of the contents (pots, glasses, books).

Heavy items go at the bottom, light at the top, fragile in the middle with extra padding. Glass and china are wrapped individually in acid-free paper, never newspaper: newspaper ink transfers and is hard to wash off a glaze. Artwork and mirrors get bubble wrap and cardboard corners.

What is included

When you book packing with us, this comes with it:

  • All packing materials (boxes, paper, bubble wrap, tape, labels)
  • Wardrobe boxes with a rail, so clothes move without needing to be ironed again
  • Beds, shelving units and standard furniture taken apart
  • Every box labelled with room and contents
  • Collection of boxes and packing material after the move, if we are doing the move as well

Combining packing with the rest

Most customers combine packing with a home move. If some of your belongings need to go into storage while you renovate, we take them straight to our own warehouse in Birkerød. That way the whole move is handled by one crew, on one quote, with one invoice.

What is included

Always part of the price

When you book with us there are no add-on charges. Everything below is part of the standard service.

  • Experienced packers, scaled to the size of the home
  • All packing materials included: boxes, acid-free paper, bubble wrap, tape and labels
  • Systematic packing room by room, with clear labelling of what is in each box
  • Special handling of china, glass, artwork, cameras, wine and anything else fragile
  • Wardrobe boxes with a rail, so clothes travel on their hangers and do not need ironing again
  • Beds, shelving units, dining tables and other standard furniture taken apart
How we work

Our process

From the first conversation to the last box in place. This is what a typical job looks like.

  1. 1. We plan the packing

Together we prioritise rooms: what gets packed first, what can wait, what travels separately (artwork, a piano, an aquarium). We agree which days we come and how long we expect to need.

  2. 2. We bring every material

We arrive with boxes in several sizes, acid-free paper for glass and china, bubble wrap for artwork and electronics, wardrobe boxes with a rail, tape and labels. You do not have to buy anything.

  3. 3. We pack systematically

We work room by room so you can always find what you still need. Every box is labelled with its contents and its destination room in the new home. Heavy at the bottom, light at the top, fragile in the middle.

  4. 4. Ready for the truck

When everything is packed, the boxes are stacked logically for moving day so the crew can work fast. If we are doing the move too, we carry straight on at the new address.

FAQ

Questions about packing service

If your question is not here, you are always welcome to call.

What does it cost to have my home packed?

The price follows the time it takes, which depends most on how much china, glass and artwork has to be wrapped piece by piece. If you book packing together with the move itself, the materials are included. Call us and we will give you a concrete estimate.

Should I pack my personal things myself?

Entirely up to you. Many people prefer to handle jewellery, important documents and personal items themselves. We pack everything else. If there are rooms or drawers we should not open, just mark them with a note.

Do you pack large items like a piano or artwork?

Yes. Pianos, paintings, sculptures and large mirrors get special handling with extra padding, dedicated transport and insurance. For particularly valuable artwork we recommend seeing it before we pack, so we can adapt the method.

Are my things insured when you pack them?

Yes. Our insurance through IF covers both packing and transport on DMF terms. That is one of the advantages of having us pack rather than doing it yourself: the insurance covers the whole chain.
